1. Title and Numbers
Project Assistant Professor or Project Researcher: one position
2. Terms of Employment
From as early as possible after September 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
3. Renewal of Contract
Annual renewal will be determined based on the budget situation, the progress of the assigned duties, the amount of work at the end of the contract period, attitude, overall work performance, health condition, and other factors.
Your employment agreement may be renewed up to four times and the renewed term cannot be extended beyond March 31, 2030.
4. Probation Period
14 days from the date of appointment.

Project Assistant Professor: Employment location changes (e.g., transfer or secondment) will not be imposed without consent in accordance with Article 4 of the university’s employment regulations.
Project Researcher: In principle, within the same department.

7. Job Description
The successful candidate will work on experimental particle and astro-particle physics with neutrinos, as well as on related nuclear interaction studies. The appointee will collaborate with Associate Prof. Yasuhiro Nakajima and is expected to lead accelerator-based experiments to study nuclear reactions associated with neutrino interactions and work on improving neutrino observation at large water Cherenkov detectors.
Project Assistant Professor: Transfer or concurrent appointments may be directed but will not be imposed without consent in accordance with Article 4 of the university’s employment regulations.
Project Researcher: Transfer or concurrent appointments may be directed.
8. Working Hours
Discretionary work system for professional work applies, and working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
9. Days off, Leave
Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 to January 3) Annual Paid Leave, Special Leave, etc.
10. Salary and Benefits
Annual Salary System will be applied: Monthly salary starting from JPY 400,000, including performance/achievement bonus. (The salary will be decided by considering your qualifications, capacity, experience, etc.)
Commuting Allowance (up to JPY 55,000 per month) if the payment conditions are satisfied.
11. Insurance
The successful applicants will be automatically enrolled in the insurance from the Mutual Aid Association of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology) and Employment Insurance.
12. Qualifications
Applicants must hold (or be expected to hold by the date of appointment) a Ph.D. degree. Applicants from diverse research backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
