A postdoctoral position on bacterial microfluidic experiments at Univ. Tokyo

A new postdoc position is available at Takeuchi Lab, Department of Physics, The University of Tokyo, to carry out microfluidic experiments on dense bacterial populations and statistical physics analysis. Feel free to forward this announcement to potential candidates. See the following for details.

Scope:
Candidates are expected to have interests and motivations to carry out microfluidic experiments on bacterial populations, which aim at quantitative and physical understanding of dynamic phenomena therein. Experience of bacterial experiments, microfluidic devices, optical tweezers, image analysis, or active matter studies is appreciated but not necessary.

Mission:
The postdoctoral fellow will push forward a project on microfluidic experiments on dense bacterial populations and statistical physics analysis, being carried out under the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas, "Information physics of living matters". Qualification:
The candidate must have a PhD at the beginning of the contract.

Starting date:
July 16th, 2020, or later (determined by consultation)

Contract period:
until March 31st, 2022.
(renewable upon evaluation until March 31st, 2024)

Type of contract:
full-time

Salary:
monthly gross salary about 360,000 JPY + commutation allowance
