Call for Applications for Autumn Admission! (Deadline: July 29（Wed.）15:00)

The University of Tokyo "Fostering Advanced Human Resources to Lead Green Transformation (GX)” project (Project officer: Professor Shin-ichi Ohkoshi) supported by Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by Next Generation (SPRING) of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) is the program that 1,307 doctoral students participate from all schools of the University of Tokyo.
We recruit students entering the doctoral course in Autumn 2026.

Eligibility: Those who plan to enroll in the doctoral program (including four-year doctoral programs) at the University's graduate school in April 2026 (including those currently applying).
Number of places:
Domestic Students: Approximately 35
International Students: Approximately 35
Application period: Jily 13, 2026 (Mon.) - July 29, 2026 (Wed.)15:00

* Students currently enrolled in a master’s program and affiliated with WINGS are also eligible; however, please note that WINGS students must submit different documents and use a separate application form.

Doctoral Student Support Project (BOOST NAIS)

Urgent call for D1 students! (Deadline: July 29, 2025 (Wed.)15:00)

Supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) under the BOOST initiative for young researchers and doctoral students in national strategic areas, the University of Tokyo’s project “Advanced AI Talent Development to Lead the Next-Generation Intelligent Society (BOOST NAIS)” is open to all doctoral students (including those in 4-year doctoral programs) at the university. We are now calling for approximately 4 project participants who entered in the doctoral programs in the fall of 2026.

Applicants:
Applicants for the doctoral programs starting in Fall 2026, including those in 4-year doctoral programs.

国立研究開発法人科学技術振興機構(JST)の次世代研究者挑戦的研究プログラム(SPRING)事業が支援する、東京大学「グリーントランスフォーメーション(GX)を先導する高度人材育成(SPRING GX)」プロジェクト(事業統括:大越慎一教授)は、全学の1307名の博士課程学生(4年制博士課程学生を含む)が参加するプロジェクトです。
このたび、2026年度秋入学の博士課程学生出願者を対象とし、プロジェクト生を募集します。
